The experience of diaspora is a series of coverings and uncoverings — much like memory, and this moment is uncovering much. The purpose of the audio archive booth is to record stories, reflections, experiences, hopes, dreams, pasts, and futures of the Iranian diaspora during this historical moment. Current Audio Archive Booth locations are listed on the homepage. All appointments with the booth are private and booking procedures vary depending on location. Providing your first and last name in the recording is not a requirement.
This project was previously hosted at Berkeley Art Center, where it was facilitated by Iranians for Abolition, the Center for Iranian Diaspora Studies at San Francisco State University, SOMArts Gallery in San Francisco and Round Weather Gallery in Oakland, CA.
